Insult to Injury!

After all that has happened to the people of Japan now I hear that the country is most likely going to have to pick up the tab on the cost of the nuclear disaster they are now experiencing. Somehow that does not seem right. They did not cause the accident so how can you expect them to pay for it. Their country has laws that say if it is an overwhelming natural disaster that the companies involved are not liable for damages. Who is? Couple of important facts that one might want to look at closely here. Is the reason this happened because the people who designed these reactors or who is responsible for running them got just a little to sure of themselves? If you are going to be playing with fire you had better be willing to get burned and you better have a good way of putting the fire out! The word "Safe" seems to have more than one meaning. Safe to one is not safe to the next. If you tell me something is safe I do not expected to be told latter that I'm going to be glowing in the dark just because you do not really know what safe is!
